Keeping active in your own home

Keeping active  is vitally important to staying both physically and mentally fit.

You’re recommended to get at least 150 minutes of moderate exercise a week, thats around 20 – 30 minutes a day.

Being active can help to enhance your mood and wellbeing by reducing stress, anxiety and increasing energy levels.

Any amount of physical activity, however small, is good for you.  Enjoying short local walks, jogs or cycles is a great way to clear your head and stay active.   You can also stay active at home, by walking up and down stairs, dancing, gardening or taking part in a virtual fitness class. It doesn’t matter what you do, as long as you do something that you enjoy and keep moving as the video emphasises.
